How does HP recycle its print cartridge - Step 1: Customers drop off used HP cartridges at recycling bins at retail outlets or other designated drop-off centers or customers' offices.
Step 2: The Logistics Service Provider picks up the print cartridges from these designated drop-off centers to their warehouses. Step 3: At the warehouses, the print cartridges are processed.
Step 4: Cartridges are sorted. Step 5: Cartidges are packed into boxes. Step 6: At the recycling facility, HP print cartridges are first sorted before the recycling process begins.
Step 7: Cartridges are shredded. Step 8: Metals are removed and separated into ferrous and non-ferrous types. Step 9: Cartridge residuals like foam and ink are removed.
Step 10: Plastics are further separated. 25% of the carriage cover is made from recycled HP ink cartridges.
Step 11: Any remaining materials are utilized to generate energy or disposed in an environmentally responsible manner.
